This fine oval hinged sterling silver trinket box (originally could have been made to be tobacco box) is in mint condition and looks to never have been used. Imported into London with date letter for 1921 by esteemed silversmiths and jewellers Cohen & Charles of London.
The piece is made entirely of solid sterling silver with a rich red enamel and hand-painted gold details, the base with machine-turned engraving and the interior in a rich gold gilt.
A fine piece in its day and kept in exceptional condition!

Some history on the company:
Albert Cohen and Charles Solomon founded they company in Birmingham in 1890 and later opened a showroom in London's prestigious Holborn Circus. They specialised in high end items for discerning city gentlemen.
