An exquisite heavy sterling silver cast salt cellar (large in size - can also be used as a small sweets dish, or other condiment dish) with a European Hanau (German) style putti / cherub figure. Interestingly there are references to UK hallmarked pieces that are the same, dating to circa 1886, although this piece is unmarked it has been tested and verified accordingly.

The putti is in an outstretched position, with his left hand extended over the bowl, which I believe is to rest the salt spoon on! See photos for details and design - a rare find!
